SHE DID IT!!

Last week Sunday Evie started CRAWLING!! We were saying for a couple of weeks, "anyday now she's just going to take off". And she did! Look out world... Evie's mobile!!!

I just feel like she's growing and learning SO fast! Also on Sunday she figured out how to work the sippy cup. Other new developments include feeding herself the bottle, eating Cheerios and playing in her toy kitchen from Uncle Brian and Aunt Claire. She'd better slow down soon with all this new stuff because I can't handle it!! :)

Here's a video of her crawling. This was taken today and after looking at a video of her crawling on Monday, it's amazing how quickly she's gotten the hang of it. She's not a speed demon yet, but you just wait. (Oh, and of course her motivation to crawl is usually to get to Louie's bone or toy... great...).

One of Evie's new favorite toys is the rubber scraper. She loves to chew it!

I couldn't believe she was actually sleeping like this! Kyle says, "like Father/like daughter!" :)

Louie and Evie are best buds! He is SO GREAT with her! He's super patient and doesn't mind her rolling all over him and pulling his ears/eyes/everything. Yesterday she even climbed over his head to get to a toy and he just laid there! He'll give her "kisses" and she gives them right back (which really is her trying to eat his nose and ears and fur in general...). It's really funny to watch them together.

Being Evie's Mom

Yesterday I celebrated my first Mother's Day! I now understand why people like Mother's Day more than their birthdays. This Mommy thing is the BEST THING EVER!!!!!!! I'm so proud to be Evie's Mom! I have really enjoyed every stage so far, and they definitely keep getting better and better.

The cute story of the week is that this weekend Evie and I were going through the nightly getting-ready-for-bed routine and after she and I read 2 books I cradle her in my arms and sing her a few songs before putting her in her crib. While I'm singing I usually carress her head, forehead and cheeks. Well this time, while I was doing that, she slowly lifted her arm and started running her hand through my hair (not pulling it) and then ran her hand across my face over and over while "singing" (kind of a quiet hummm in different pitches). It was the best thing EVER!!!!!!

I can't wait to see what's in store for us as this little one gets bigger and bigger! :)
